The Sentauria™ Intelligent Stadium is the culmination of over 15 years of experience in some of the most sophisticated sports and entertainment venues in the world, including development of habitats for space exploration and spacecraft analogs on Earth. Having worked with a range of existing stadiums in need of optimization, we have developed principles, concepts, technology, and methods to work with architects, engineers, and builders to design the Intelligent Stadium from the ground up. This is a reimagining of the standard stadium audio platform from a PA system into a fully theatrically enabled immersive spatial environment that will usher in the next age of stadium experiences. In working with the human space program, we are forced to engineer systems that use less power, weight, volume, and mass. Sentauria carries this same ethos into the Intelligent Stadium, where we work diligently to create the immersive spatial environment by using more efficient design, fewer speakers, fewer amps, less power, and reduced resources. For the user, we aim to create an audio ‘sweet spot’ for all seats in the stadium. Uniquely, Sentauria’s system has been able to deliver the same perception of volume (loudness) by utilizing lower decibels to provide that similar outcome. This has a potential value for long-term hearing exposure and user safety. We achieve this by dynamically increasing the signal to noise ratio along with our segmented radial topology platform, which dramatically reduces signal distortion.

Once the Sentauria Intelligent Stadium platform is installed, it allows stadium owners and teams to also elevate the intelligent use of their facility.

Imagine turning your stadium PA system into a sophisticated audio array platform providing sound that is more akin to a movie theater or concert hall. Now imagine bands and other acts playing from the stadium house system, instead of hauling millions of dollars worth of gear into the stadium, and then taking days to set up and sound check. Consider events like rodeos, motocross, boxing, UFC, and corporate events utilizing our Intelligent house system without the cost of additional gear, labor, and time. The question of whether to apply Sentauria’s Intelligent Stadium becomes less about how much does it cost, but how much can I earn from the enhanced capability, time, and cost savings.

One of the advantages we add to the Intelligent Stadium is the ability to take the live feed from any sporting or entertainment event and spatialize it in real time. This creates a new product opportunity, since the event, game, or concert does not require post-production and the time delay (and cost) that goes into post-production. Thus, teams, leagues, or bands have the option to record any event for which they wish to create a new spatial audio product that does not require the expense of post-production. This can also help maintain the interest of the live event, since the product is available immediately.

We have deployed this concept at the Houston Astros Ballpark (now Daikin Park). By spatializing the house system, ownership was able to bring in a Canelo fight produced by HBO within a short set up window. This is because no outside audio capability was needed and they were able to use our system to present the fight to a full house. The Astros also used our house system to show movies on the jumbotron, with our system providing beautiful spatialized audio immersion for the movie.

The Texas Rangers routinely used our house system to bring in smaller musical acts right after games with minimal time, gear, and set up costs. Bands just plugged directly into our spatialized house system and were able to be up and running within 15 minutes of the end of game. This caused fans to stay longer, use the concessions, and enjoy the music together.

We envision the day soon when even very large acts will not need to haul the millions of dollars worth of gear across country for a live performance, but rather plug into the Sentauria™ Intelligent Stadium house system. In the meantime, Sentauria can set up the house system to interface with large musical acts, so that when their own proprietary systems are deployed, we add a layer of immersive sound (from the spatialized house system) that seems to float like clouds enveloping the fans inside the music.
